I do my best work with depressed and self-harming teens who are ready to work together to replace unhelpful behaviors with helpful ones to increase positive emotions and really enjoy their life.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with a degree in Community & Trauma Counseling from Jefferson University. I see my clients’ challenges through a compassionate lens and help them to see themselves with self-love and compassion too.
I am intensively trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and in the process of Linehan Board Certification. I use this approach to assist teens in learning how to self-regulate their emotions and improve interpersonal relationships. I love working with families to help them change patterns and interactions so that they can see massive shifts in the home environment using practical skills that really work!
I have completed the Prolonged Exposure (PE) intensive from University of Pennsylvania and have a specialty in treating grief, loss and trauma with teens who have experienced life challenges or have a PTSD diagnosis. I have a passion for working with teens that need to be seen, heard, and understood for who they are while providing them with the structure and skills to heal and move towards life goals.
My work experience in School-Based Student Assistance Programs (SAP) has provided me with a unique perspective in supporting students who are experiencing stressors in academic settings. I’ve seen first-hand the gaps in resources and support that students face. I help them find their place and build their confidence so that they can transition to the next step feeling fully prepared and confident to live independently and thrive.
When I’m not at work…
When I’m not working, I’m nerding out with my family watching everything Marvel, practicing mindfulness and recording music in our home recording studio. I also love to hang with my dog Oliver; he likes to escort me everywhere I go!
