Hi, I’m Makenzie. I’m a trauma-informed therapist who helps adults and adolescents untangle the impact of childhood trauma, eating disorders, and the patterns that grow out of chronic overwhelm. My work centers on creating a space where you can breathe, slow down, and feel genuinely supported as you make sense of your story.
I specialize in eating disorder recovery healing from childhood trauma, drawing from both EMDR and Somatic Experiencing. These approaches allow us to work not just with your thoughts, but with the body-based responses that often linger long after the trauma itself. Together, we’ll explore what feels stuck, what feels confusing, and what’s been taking up too much space inside you. My goal is to help you build safety—not just in the therapy room, but within yourself.
Clients often tell me that I bring a grounded, human presence to therapy. I don’t expect you to have everything figured out, and I don’t believe healing has to be rushed. Instead, we take it one step at a time, honoring your pace and your lived experience. I show up as a real person, and I want you to feel seen, understood, and never alone in the process.
Whether you’re navigating the exhaustion of an eating disorder, the effects of childhood trauma, or the sense that you’ve been surviving instead of thriving, I’m here to help you reconnect with your strength, your body, and your voice. Healing is possible—and you deserve support that feels safe, compassionate, and steady.
