I’m Stephanie Kavoulakos, LMFT, founder of Whole Person Healing Therapy in Sherman Oaks, California.
I work with adults impacted by trauma, grief, addiction—their own or a loved one’s—and major life transitions. I also work extensively with creatives and entertainment professionals. My work is grounded in the simple belief that people are more than the painful experiences they carry.
Trauma can change how we see ourselves, other people, and the world around us. It can leave us disconnected from parts of ourselves that once felt safe, joyful, and alive. I see healing as a process of changing our relationship with the past so that painful experiences can be integrated into our lives without defining who we are.
My approach is trauma-informed and attachment-focused. I integrate EMDR and draw from depth and Jungian psychology, family systems, mindfulness, somatic practices, DBT, CBT, expressive therapies, and other approaches.
I believe healing can begin when our deepest pain is fully seen, witnessed, and held with compassion and understanding.
Grief is an especially meaningful focus of my work, shaped by both my clinical experience and the loss of my adult son.
