My therapeutic approach focuses on identifying and challenging current thinking patterns, as well as past familial and personal experiences to change lives from the inside out.
I remain present, grounded, and attuned in session, adapting services to meet the needs of my clients. I integrate complementary methodologies and techniques to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client utilizing multiple referrals to variety of complementary medicines.
Over the years, I have completed additional training in various areas including extensive Eating Disorder training, both individual and group therapy, following Somatic treatment methods and Health At Every Size (HAES) Principles.
In addition, I have completed a Mindfulness Meditation Certificate, TF-CBT, CPT, DBT, Polyvagal Theory & SSP – becoming a Certified Remote SSP Facilitator. In addition, I have continued training as a trauma specialist and EMDR Therapist, completing Trauma Certification – Level 1 with the Ferentz Institute.
Most recently, I completed EMDR Level 1 & 2 Training with EMDRIA Approved local Trainer/Consultant Stacy Stoddard, LMFT. I am currently continuing with consultations & training to become an EMDR-certified therapist.
In addition to providing therapy and growing group practice, I created & co-host a podcast for mental health clinicians, Insurance Answers Podcast, which has had hundreds of thousands of listens! I provide consultation for growing an insurance based practice & am currently developing continuing education courses to help further the practice of counseling for various mental health practitioners.
I began teaching as an Adjunct Faculty member in 2017 at University of Maryland School of Social Work, teaching Clinical Social Work with Addictive Behavior Patterns, Paradigms of Clinical Social Work, as well as Advanced Interventions in Clinical Social Work.
