Background and Experience
With a decade of experience in mental health, I’ve worked extensively with individuals, couples, families, and groups, addressing issues like depression, anxiety, trauma, substance abuse, and relationship difficulties.
Focus on Women
My current practice focuses on women’s issues.
My passion for aiding women stems from personal and professional encounters. During my internship at a residential center for women with co-occurring disorders, I witnessed remarkable resilience, fueling my dedication to helping women recover from trauma. As a woman and mother who has grappled with anxiety and perinatal mood disorders, I deeply understand the intricacies of these struggles. This firsthand experience drives my commitment to providing empathetic support, promoting healing and empowerment for women, particularly mothers, facing similar challenges.
My Approach
I believe in the magic of a genuine therapeutic connection, where you can be your honest-to-goodness self and watch transformation unfold. My therapy style is a mix of empathy, humor, and total acceptance, without any pressure to hold back or worry about being judged. Clients find me honest, intuitive, and compassionate, often feeling deeply understood in our sessions.
I employ a trauma-informed approach, linking present issues to their origins, focusing on healing the root causes for profound, lasting change. Techniques like EMDR and Brainspotting are central to my practice, often bringing swift relief from long-standing symptoms.
Every woman is unique, so I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. I integrate various therapeutic methods, including ACT, CBT, DBT, parts work, attachment theory, polyvagal theory, and mindfulness, tailored to each individual’s needs. I believe in a holistic approach to wellness, collaborating with other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive care.
