I’d like to ask yourself, are you experiencing anxiety or feeling overwhelmed by fear? Are you confused by your loss of interest in things that used to bring you joy? Do you feel emotionally unstable in one relationship but stable in all your others? These may be a sign that you are experiencing or have experienced relational trauma. Welcome to my Trauma Therapist Network profile. My name is Carol and I specialize in bringing trauma interventions to reduce symptoms associated with Narcissistic Abuse, Spiritual Abuse and various other traumas that include but are not limited to childhood abuse. I work via teletherapy in the states of California, Utah, Nevada, Idaho and Pennsylvania. I also have experience working with creatives, bi-cultural individuals and have worked in a variety of marginalized communities. I understand the experience of balancing two or more distinct cultures or feeling counter to cultural norms. These experiences can be traumatizing and bring about identity questioning, creative blocks, imposter syndrome, self-doubt and perfectionism. I find my experience working with first-generation Americans is highly effective in helping clients honor their parent’s cultural norms and integrating those cultural pieces from their chosen culture into their own unique bi-cultural identity.
I utilize a variety of therapeutic interventions that include mindfulness, body work and EMDR. Trauma treatment is a bottom-up approach and these interventions can assist the brain reorganize the traumatic memories and discharge the negative emotions held in your mind and body. I am not a disciple of one psychological model but utilize techniques that are drawn from various modalities dependent upon the need. I am passionate about the work I do and am always seeking consultation and education in order to bring you the most up to date treatment.
Please feel free to reach out for an initial consultation, I am happy to engage in a conversation to see if we are a good clinical fit.
